Welcome to the Pinnacol.com Help section. This page was designed to answer questions you may have while you are using the Apply for Insurance application.   Pop-up Blockers
  Pop-ups should not be a problem when using this application.
   
  If you believe you are experiencing pop-ups that are being blocked, please contact your information technology department or enter pinnacol.com into the browser pop-up manager as an allowed site. You can also call the Pinnacol Web Support Specialist at 1-866-823-5466 (toll free) or 303-361-4740 for technical support.
   
   
  Entry Page
  The first page is where you enter the FEIN or SSN of the business or owner and the business phone. After clicking on the 'Continue' button, the direct application main page will be displayed.
   
  If you have applied for insurance within the last 60 days, the 'Apply for Insurance Submitted' page will be displayed. If this is a new application, or if it has been more than 60 days since you applied, the 'Apply for Insurance' pages will be displayed.
   
  Please note the auto-formatting feature for faster entry for this page and the other direct application sections.
   
   
  Apply for Insurance Pages
  This section is now on pages that can be accessed with navigation buttons located at the top of the entry sections. When entering a new direct application for insurance, only the first page button is enabled. When this page has been entered, click the 'Continue' button, and the second navigation button will be enabled. This continues until you get to the 'Review' section. All previous pages remain enabled, and you can go back to any of them by clicking on the button for that page. This allows you to look at the information you typed in and to make changes, if needed.
   
  Each time the 'Continue' button is clicked, the information is validated. If there are any required fields or information that does not match, messages will be provided to help you make the necessary changes. When everything is OK and the next page comes up, the information is saved. If you close the browser and come back at a later time to finish this application, the information will be retrieved and you can continue where you left off.
   
  On the 'Review' page, there is a 'Preview Application' link. When this link is clicked, a report showing the information is produced in PDF format so you can preview the application before submitting to Pinnacol. The second button is to submit this application for insurance to Pinnacol.
   
   
  Owners Page
  A minimum of one owner is required when applying for insurance. The first time navigating to this section will bring up the page to add an individual, owner, or officer. Additional owners can also be added. Once this information is saved, the pertinent information is displayed on the List of Owners/Officers page. If you need to change any of the information, click on the lookup/search button for that record, and the record can then be edited.
   
  If you wish to delete a record, click on the delete button. A message box will be displayed to verify that this record is the one you wish to delete.
   
  If more than 4 records are added, all will be displayed so they can be accessed for verification, deleting, or editing.
   
   
  Classes Page
  This page brings up a form where classification information is added. Once this information is saved, the pertinent information is displayed on this tab page. If you need to change any of the information, click on the lookup/search button for that record, and the record can then be edited.
   
  If you wish to delete a record, click on the delete button. A message box will be displayed to verify that this record is the one you wish to delete.
   
  If more than 5 records are added, a navigation bar will be displayed under the records so all of them can be accessed for verification, deleting, or editing.
   
   
  After Submitting the Application
  After the 'Submit to Pinnacol' button is clicked on the confirmation tab page, the 'Submitted' page will be displayed. A confirmation number will be provided for your reference.
   
  The 'Review Application' link allows you to review the application that was submitted. The report also has the reference number and can be printed for your records.
   
  This Apply for Insurance: Submitted page can be accessed within 60 days after submitting an application. On the Pinnacol.com homepage, choose the 'Apply for Insurance' option. Enter the information on the entry page and click on the 'Continue' button. The 'Apply for Insurance: Submitted' page will be displayed.
   
   
  Images/Image Buttons
  The applications within Pinnacol.com use images and image buttons for varying functions. The images shown below are used in this application, and a brief description of what they do is included.

  Information for that specific area or item within the application.
   
   
  Lookup/Search - interactive forms used for searches and editing records on multi-record blocks.
   
   
  Delete the current record, normally used in mutli-record blocks.
   
   
  Auto-formatting
  The auto-formatting feature applies to dates, phone numbers, fax numbers, and social security numbers. It is not available in the combination FEIN/SSN fields.
   
  Information may be entered in these fields with a forward-slash ( / ), dash ( - ), or any other separating character. You may also enter in the numbers with no separating characters, and the system will format the field appropriately. The dates still need to be entered with a two digit month (mm), a two digit day (dd) and a four digit year (yyyy).
   
   
  Lookup/Search Forms
  Zip/City: located on several of the tab pages. Based on the state selected on the form, a search screen is available that will list the cities and zip codes for that state. Searches can be done on the zip code, the name of the city, or even partial city searches (use the beginning letters of the city). The results will be displayed, and when a selection is made, the information will be copied into the application.

  Browser Information
  This site is best used with Internet Explorer, version 6.0 or higher.
   
  Although Pinnacol.com is built primarily for use with Internet Explorer, other browsers are tested to ensure the web pages will work. Netscape Navigator, version 7.1 or higher, is supported, along with the newer versions of Mozilla and Firefox.
   
  Please note that all browsers are different and may act or display items differently. This includes spacing, lines, list-of-values, and images.
   
   
  Web Page Caching
  Web browsers, like Internet Explorer and Netscape, will store (cache) web pages in temporary internet files on your computer for quick retrieval. If the browser determines that the web page you want to go to is the same as the web page in cache on your computer, it will display the cached web page and not check the web server.
   
  This can be a problem on any web site, including Pinnacol.com. Changes to the applications and information that was typed in previously may not be displayed on your computer, if the cached web page is displayed.
   
  When using Pinnacol.com, the preferred browser setting for cached pages is to always check the web server for the web page being requested.
